Hon J.C. Hutchinson (left), Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, discusses onion cultivation with farmer Dean Reid on his approximately 1-acre onion plot in Abbey, St. Thomas, on April 10. As part of its Import Substitution Programme, the Ministry is on a drive to increase onion production in Jamaica.
