Personal information, voluntarily submitted, will be used to contact users, primarily by e-mail, to respond to comments or requests for information. The Ministry uses standard web server log files and gathers navigational information about where users go on the web site to help us count visitors and to evaluate the usefulness of the site.
Information We Collect
We collect two types of information about web visitors: Personal information (such as name and e-mail address) which you voluntarily submit to us when you pass on information to us electronically and Aggregate information (such as browser version and number of visitors). The Ministry recognizes the importance of protecting any information collected from visitors to our site. It is our policy to treat any personal information we acquire as private, i.e. for internal business purposes only.
Use of your Personal Information
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- To receive feedback and to ensure that our web site is relevant to user needs.
- To deliver information services.
- To provide updates on developments at the Ministry and its Agencies/Departments.
Data Sharing and Transfer
The Ministry will not trade, rent, sell, share or otherwise pass on personal information for use by any other party without owner’s consent. In exceptional circumstances, we may have to pass on in good faith information/request that we believe is more appropriately to be directed to another agency for response.
E-mail addresses will be used to reply to comments or questions, and the communication will be stored for a period of time for future reference. E-mail addresses will not be shared with any third party except as noted above. This Ministry does not maintain a repository of this information after the initial communication. E-mails are archived as a matter of record.
