Work Permits

Direct portfolio responsibility for work permits rests within the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. However, a Committee of public sector representatives meets weekly to examine work permit applications. The Committee has representatives from the Labour Ministry, the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, the Ministry of Health and Environment, the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Telecommunication, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Mines and Geology Department.

The Ministry comments on applications for work permits submitted by business engaged in commercial activities.
