Chief Executive Officer, Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA), Peter Thompson, addresses farmers at the St. Jago Farm Supplies ‘Salute to Farmers’ function, held at the Junction Guest House in St. Elizabeth on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Seated at the head table (from left) are Managing Director, St. Jago Farm and Hardware Supplies (SJFHS), O’Brien Johnson; and Deputy Parish Manager, RADA, Mark Lee. Thirty famers in St. Elizabeth were supplied with organic fertilizer by the SJFHS and several of its international suppliers in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries. Fifty-eight famers in the parish will also be given vouchers to purchase items from farm stores. This is aimed at supporting the farmers recovery from damage caused by heavy rains earlier this year.
