Speaking during a courtesy call at his New Kingston offices on September 21, 2017, Minister Samuda thanked the ambassador for his dedicated service to Jamaica over the four years. He made the call for both countries to continue the work in removing trade barriers in all its forms, as well as opening up channels through which to advance trade.
“What we want to do is to promote trade and business between Jamaica and Cuba and the strengthening of the bilateral partnership between the two countries moving forward”, said Minister Samuda.
Minister Samuda also commended the great resilience of the Cuban people as the country starts the recovery process after being hit by Hurricane Irma.
The ambassador expressed his love for Jamaica and how much he will miss the warmth and love of the Jamaican people. He reassured Minister Samuda that on his departure he is confident that the good relationship which Jamaica and Cuba share will continue.
