MSME Development

MIIC recognizes Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) as the backbone of Jamaica’s economy and has dedicated a specialized MSME Division to advance policy and programmes that address their unique needs. This Division works in close partnership with portfolio agencies including the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC), EXIM Bank, Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ), Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ), Trade Board Limited (TBL), Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), National Compliance and Regulatory Authority (NCRA), Office of the Supervisor of Insolvency (OSI), Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC), and Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO). Together, they provide a holistic framework of financing, business advisory, standards compliance, intellectual property protection, and market development. Through these initiatives, MSMEs are empowered to formalize, expand, and increase their contribution to Jamaica’s economic growth.
