CAC to Launch New Data-Collection Survey

The Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) will be launching a new data-collection survey during the forthcoming months.
The exercise, which is intended to secure up-to-date information to enhance consumer protection in Jamaica, will be conducted through various channels.
These include online platforms, telephone interviews and in-person interactions.
CAC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dolsie Allen, said the survey is being designed to collect data pertaining to “the needs and demands of consumers with all the changes that are taking place worldwide”.
She was speaking during a Jamaica Information Service (JIS) ‘Think Tank’ at the agency’s head office in Kingston on Thursday (March 7).
Mrs. Allen encourages all Jamaicans to participate in the survey, which underscores the CAC’s commitment to staying ahead of evolving market trends and ensuring the well-being of consumers across the nation.
“We will be collecting data from you, and we encourage you to cooperate with us, as usual, when we reach out to you… so that we can design our communication products to reflect exactly who we are targeting,” she indicated.
To safeguard their personal information, citizens are advised to verify the identity of Survey Officers who will be collecting the data.
Persons who will be interacting directly with the public will wear branded CAC clothing, have a signed letter from the entity and their identification cards visible throughout the process.
“We are very excited about this at the Consumer Affairs Commission, because we have to remain relevant, and we want persons to know that we are operating in a mode where they can come to us with whatever challenges they face as consumers and be able to get assistance from us,” Mrs. Allen told JIS News.
For further information about the survey, persons may visit the CAC’s website at www.cac.gov.jm, call 876-619-4222-30, or send an email to info@cac.gov.jm.
