Christopher Bennett, founder of Edunomics Limited, is a trailblazer in e-learning, revolutionizing education by bridging the gap between qualifications and employment. Established during the COVID-19 pandemic, Edunomics initially offered classes for CXC exams. However, Bennett's vision quickly evolved as he realized the potential of online certifications as cost-effective alternatives to university degrees.
The MSME Business Pitch Competition, held by the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce (MIIC) in collaboration with the Development Bank of Jamaica, was a defining moment for Edunomics. The $300,000 cash prize played a pivotal role in launching its Heart Trust certification programs and achieving AMCA certification status. These milestones have enabled Edunomics to expand its range of training courses, particularly in professional skill certifications.
Bennett's journey has not been without challenges. Securing international recognition for Edunomics’ certifications and building partnerships with global employers remain ongoing goals. Despite these hurdles, the company has seen a growth in sales and a shift in focus toward offering certifications to a broader audience.
Cost efficiency and strong customer relationships define Edunomics’ ethos. “We ensure that clients not only achieve their goals but leave with a trusted ally in their professional journey,” Bennett explains. The business also aims to streamline employment opportunities for its trainees by fostering collaborations with employers needing skilled workers.
Looking forward, Bennett envisions Edunomics as a global hub for advanced qualifications and job placements. His advice to aspiring entrepreneurs reflects his candid realism: “Entrepreneurship is tough. It demands perseverance, teamwork, and a clear strategy. Don’t expect overnight success, but if you’re committed, the rewards are worth it.”
Christopher Bennett’s leadership exemplifies resilience and adaptability, positioning Edunomics to transform access to education and employment in the Jamaican marketplace.
