Residents of Lionel Town and surrounding areas of Clarendon, who were previously employed to the closed Monymusk Sugar Factory and intend to pursue farming on acreages of former sugar lands, are to benefit from input materials such as seeds and fertilisers. Pedro Plains Irrigation Feasibility Study Completed

Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Floyd Green, says the Pedro Plains Irrigation Feasibility Study has been completed. The study was jointly undertaken by the Governments of Jamaica and France to establish an irrigation system that will provide the farmers of Pedro Plains in St. Elizabeth with water from the Black River, which flows through the parish.
