IGL pumps up oxygen supplies

Production of medical grade oxygen at Industrial Gases Limited (IGL) will be increased by 40 per cent with the commissioning of an oxygen PSA plant. IGL, Jamaica’s lone supplier of medical oxygen, currently produces 13 tonnes of the product daily. Jamaica Business Development Corporation , JBDC, will in April start taking applications for its essential oil incubator, through which it plans to churn out entrepreneurs to take market share away from importers. RECENTLY, there have been major developments in Jamaica's intellectual property (IP) landscape. These changes include the bringing into effect of the much-anticipated Patents and Design Act, 2020 and the Trade Marks (Amendment) Act, 2021. The Patents and Design Act came into effect on February 11, 2022.
