Dr. Norman Dunn, says that the Government has undertaken a number of initiatives to drive growth in the bamboo industry, noting that one such initiative is the charcoal factory in Peckham, Clarendon. The Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) is advising consumers to be vigilant about getting a receipt when they are making transactions. Consumers are being encouraged to use the proper channels to seek redress for issues they have with products purchased. Over 8000 import and export permits have been approved by the Trade Board Limited, through the Jamaica Single Window for Trade (JSWIFT) portal, since June 2020.
