JAMPRO to Launch Export Max V in 2027

Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) will begin preparations for the fifth instalment of its flagship export development programme, ‘Export Max V’, which is scheduled to be launched in early 2027.
The programme is designed to develop a cluster of export-ready companies by positioning them competitively to seize international market opportunities and boost export earnings.
JAMPRO’s Vice President of Exports, Sonja Linton, told JIS News that the organisation will draw on lessons learned from previous Export Max programmes to guide planning for the next phase.
“We are so excited about Export Max V. We are looking to start our conversations… before the end of this month. We are going to have preliminary discussions to… draft the blueprint. We know what our mandate is… it is to grow exports, it is to build companies for sustainability and to build Jamaica’s economy,” she stated.
Companies interested in joining Cohort Five are encouraged to monitor JAMPRO’s social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook, for further details.
“When it is time to enter the programme, we will put out a call… in both the traditional and new media. But in preparation, if you want to become a member of Export Max V, get your company registered. It’s very easy to register a company. If you want more information, you can go onto www.dobusinessjamaica.com and you will find links there and information as to how to register a company in Jamaica,” Ms. Linton stated.
“We are going to ask you to have some kind of business plan or export plan. If you don’t have that and you want help with that, our sister agency, Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) will gladly help you formalise and formulate those. If you get in touch with us here at JAMPRO as well, we can help you with assessing your export readiness,” she added.
Ms. Linton further explained that JAMPRO has a dedicated department that assists potential companies in determining their level of export readiness, helping them prepare for participation in Export Max V and positioning them for success in international markets.
“So listen out for the call when [it] goes out, and remember, when the call goes out, we will put you through a diagnostic assessment to understand where you are as a company and to understand where you want to be, because it is a mutual plan. It is not just JAMPRO saying ‘you need to be here’, it is also the company saying, ‘I want your help to get me here’… and that is what we’re here to do,” she said.
“[We are here to] hand-hold you through processes, introduce you to new markets, introduce you to concepts and introduce you to workshops and trainings and things that are going to allow you to become sustainable,” Ms. Linton added.
Launched in 2011, the Export Max Programme is implemented by JAMPRO in partnership with the JBDC and the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA).
JAMPRO provides technical support, while the JBDC drives capacity-building through targeted interventions that equip participating firms to access and service identified export markets.
The JMEA will pair participants with mentors from established entities across diverse industries, enabling them to benefit from shared services, industry knowledge, and connections to distributors in targeted markets.
