JBDC expands reach of EU’s Digital Jamaica Training programme

The Jamaica Business Development Corporation continues the roll-out of the Digital Jamaica Training in the parishes of Portland, St James, Kingston, St Elizabeth and Clarendon, increasing its reach to entrepreneurs across the island.
The next round of training:

Digital Jamaica Training is funded by the European Union (EU) and managed by the Ministry of Industry, Investment & Commerce (MIIC) with the aim of improving three of Jamaica’s major sectors: information and communication technology, education, and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
For the MSME sector, in particular, the project “seeks to narrow the digital divide in the sector through capacity building and training opportunities to be provided to 2,700 entrepreneurs over a three-year period, 40 per cent of whom must be from outside the Kingston Metropolitan Area”.

On April 23 and 24, JBDC held training in St Ann and Hanover. Before that, the government agency made stops in Kingston and Manchester on April 16 and 17, and Clarendon and Trelawny on April 9 and 10.
So far, some entrepreneurs across Jamaica who have benefited from the Digital Jamaica Training have commended the initiative for being enlightening and transformative while reporting the positive impact the training has had on their businesses.
Chief Executive Officer of Total Care Wellness and Rehab Solutions Annakay Lowe-Stulz expressed her satisfaction with the session she attended in Manchester. She shared that while passion and expertise were always present in her business, digital transformation was the key to success in scaling.
