JBDC Hosts Four-Day Workshop on Jewellery-Making Techniques

The Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) will host a four-day workshop titled ‘The Perfect Finish: Metal Meets Wood’, at its Incubator & Resource Centre every Saturday in October.
Each session will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering participants a unique opportunity to acquire advanced jewellery-making techniques, with a special emphasis on merging metal and wood.
The workshop is tailored for both beginners and intermediate jewellery-makers as well as those eager to explore the creative potential of working with metal sheets.
Under the expert guidance of seasoned trainers, Valentine McLean and Donna-Gay Uter, attendees will benefit from their extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the art of jewellery-making.
Participants will not only learn how to seamlessly integrate metal and wood in their designs but will also gain foundational skills in working with sterling silver.
The workshop will also feature live demonstrations of essential techniques, including metal melting, hammering, and milling, ensuring that attendees leave with a comprehensive understanding of the craft.
Given the limited spaces available, interested individuals are being encouraged to register early and secure their spot by paying the $33,500.00 fee before the October 2 deadline.
To register, persons may send an email to duter@jbdc.net or contact a representative at the JBDC Incubator & Resource Centre at 876-618-0605 or 876-758-3966.
Further details can also be found on the JBDC website at www.jbdc.net.
