The Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) will resume its weekly online series, ‘JBDC Virtual Biz Zone’, for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with its first webinar on February 1, beginning at 10:00 a.m. via the Zoom platform.
Information on how to register is available at the JBDC website at www.jbdc.net or on any of its social media pages.
The webinar will be conducted by Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) and will highlight the new online tax payment offerings for customers. The presentation will be done by Taxpayer Education Officer, TAJ, Antoinette Anderson.
Corporate Communications Manager, JBDC, Suzette Campbell, told JIS News that the webinar is timely, as it comes just before “tax month”.
“One of the things that we always try to do is keep our topic seasonal and ensure that we are meeting the needs of the public based on the hot topics at hand,” said Ms. Campbell.
She noted that the JBDC thrives and prides itself on partnerships with entities that also serve the MSME sector, whether it be private or public.
“JBDC is all about bridging the gaps for challenges faced by entrepreneurs, and that’s why these partnerships are so significant. We bring them inside the family and they’re right there at your fingertips for you to access them. You don’t have to go to TAJ to learn about the convenience of their online services; just come to the JBDC Virtual Biz Zone,” Ms. Campbell added.
Ms. Campbell also informed that since the start of the series in 2020, approximately 53 webinars have been staged, with more than 15,000 persons having participated.
The JBDC is the Government’s business development agency that assists in the sustainable creation and development of MSMEs in Jamaica.
