Karl Hyatt is a mathematician serving the Government of Jamaica for almost four decades. 

He was appointed as Principal Director Policy, Planning, Projects, and Research at the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce in April 2022. 

My Hyatt previously held positions at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (1990 – 2016) and Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF) (2016 – 2021)  

In 2021, he led the reorganisation of the structure of the Policy, Planning, Projects, and Research Division (PPPRD) of the Ministry utilising his vast experience as well as implementing the knowledge from the Project Management Global Institute Certificate in Techniques and Practices of Project Management.  

Mr Hyatt holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mathematics and Masters of Science in Economics from the University of the West Indies, Mona.
