Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Audley Shaw, speaking at the official signing ceremony between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Commercial Bank of Jamaica (NCB), at the NCB Wellness and Recreational Centre, Phoenix Avenue, Kingston, on Thursday, October 31, 2019. The signing of the Development Credit Authority Loan Portfolio Guarantee Agreement will assist Small and Medium Enterprises across the Caribbean. SMEs with collateral constraints can now access financing for Energy Savings Projects, Clean Energy Production Projects, as well as general business development. Additionally, NCB will be better equipped to help create the optimal environment for economic development through this initiative, and numerous programmes, products and services designed to strengthen Jamaica’s SMEs.
