Ministers Shaw, Charles and MP Dr. Ferguson meet with former sugar cane workers

From left, Hon Audley Shaw (left), Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Dr. Fenton Ferguson, Member of Parliament for Eastern St. Thomas, and Hon Pearnel Charles, farmer, in dialogue at a meeting with former sugar cane workers of the Golden Grove Sugar Factory in St. Thomas on January 24, 2020. Minister Shaw disclosed at the meeting that Government would be providing $200-million assistance to former workers to include land and inputs such, seeds and fertilizer to enable them to engage in the cultivation of alternative crops.
