Early registration for the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) online Employee Engagement Seminar Series in October is now open.
Employers interested in participating in the sessions, which will be held every Thursday from October 8 to 29, have until Friday, September 25 to access prices and packages at a reduced cost.
The early bird offer reflects a discount of $10,000, with prices ranging from $7,500 for days two and three and $10,000 for days one and four. Persons can also purchase an all-access package for $35,000 for all four days.
Regular registration for the event will be allowed up until Tuesday, October 27.
The series will be hosted under the theme ‘Lead In The Moment: Empower. Pivot. Grow’. Registration for the event is now officially open and persons interested can sign up online at this link: Employee Engagement Registration.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the JBDC, Valerie Veira, is encouraging employers to use the seminar series to access crucial information, which is needed now more than ever as they grapple with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their business operations.
“Businesses have been turned upside down and forced to pivot in order to remain viable and profitable. As the Government’s premier business development service provider for the micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector, we believe it is critical to equip entrepreneurs and leaders with the skills they need to be effective in leadership roles,” she said.
The seminar series is an outgrowth of the JBDC’s Employee Engagement Conference launched in 2017, in response to the agency’s National Employee Engagement Report (2016), which found that only 41.5 per cent of Jamaican workers were actively engaged on the job.
The seminar series is targeting executives, senior managers, middle managers, supervisors, aspiring leaders, entrepreneurs and academia.
Topics that will be covered include Virtual Talent for Business Growth, Reinforcing Earnings and Productivity in the New Norm and Future-proofing your Workplace.
The three international speakers for the event are International Speaker, Best-Selling Author & CEO, Lisa Nichols; President of Leadership Quest, Steve Gutzer; and Head of Human Resources at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, Gale Baptiste. Local speakers include Founder and CEO of Caribbean HR Solutions, Debra Frazer; and Paul Bryan, Managing Director & Co-Founder of Think Grow Lead.
The JBDC is the Government’s business development agency that assists in the sustainable creation and development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
