COMCE is the umbrella organization of the private sector whose mission is to promote foreign trade and foster the development and competitiveness of Mexican companies.
This meeting provided networking opportunities with key business people from COMCE membership and the Jamaican public and private sector delegates.
Minister Hill stated that we are looking to partnering with members of COMCE to develop and expand markets in Mexico (120M people) for Jamaican products and services, and to establish a Jamaican-Mexican Chamber of Commerce.
There is already significant investment by Mexican companies in Jamaica in business sectors such as hotels, cement and airports. In response, Mr. Mark McGuiness, President, Mexico-Jamaica arm of COMCE noted that the Mexican Business sector is looking to diversify their investment outside of Mexico with a special focus on Jamaica and the Caribbean.
