Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, the Hon Audley Shaw, is encouraging young people to avoid negative influences and to pursue a path of decency and honesty by establishing their own businesses.
Addressing members of the 2018 graduating class of the Knockalava Agricultural School on June 1, Minister Shaw lamented the fact that the standards within the country have fallen and urged the students to beware of bad company and focus on the positive things.
Referring to the range of products that were on display at the recently held Jamaica Business Development Corporation Business Expo, Minister Shaw said he was encouraged by the spirit of initiative and enterprise being exhibited and pointed to the fact that there was a great demand for products made in Jamaica worldwide.
Government, Minister Shaw said, is working on ensuring that special areas for agro processing are created and for those who are serious about operating businesses and want to make money, the Government is committed to helping them to find windows and avenues to get loans at low interest rates.
The industry, commerce, agriculture and fisheries minister encouraged the students to grasp the opportunities that were available in the agricultural sector, noting that prosperity begins in the mind and whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
