At right is Locksley Waite, National Coordinator, Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA). Under the programme, it is expected that some 1,200 hectares of Irish potato will be planted for the 2017-2018 crop year with support from H&L Agro, Newport-Fersan, PROPEL and the Potato and Onion Producers’ Association. The National Irish Potato and Onion Programme is part of Government’s import substitution strategy for the agricultural sector.
