Shaw wants improved linkages with tourism sector

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, the Hon. Audley Shaw, has stated his intention to meet with the Tourism Linkages Council to discuss improved linkages between the micro-business and agriculture sectors and the tourism sector. Minister Shaw announced this intention as he addressed the 11th Annual Small Business Expo and Conference held May 16 at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston. Agriculture ministry emphasises importance of irrigation for agricultural expansion

Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon J.C. Hutchinson, has emphasised the importance of adequate irrigation to the consistent and sustainable growth of agricultural production. Rising hunger and obesity, climate change and rural poverty; these will be the main issues of the 35th Regional Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The 35th Conference will take place from 5-8 of March 2018, in Montego Bay, Jamaica and is FAO’s main governing body. Agriculture Ministers from all of FAO’s 33 member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean will come together in Jamaica to set the Organization’s priorities for the next two years.
