
Yvette Sutherland-Reid
Yvette Sutherland-Reid is an Attorney-at-Law who was admitted to practice at the Jamaican Bar in 2004. She began her career at the private bar where she gained experience in Civil Litigation, Commercial Law, and Family Law, before transitioning to the public service where she has served with distinction for over a decade. She currently holds the post of Senior Assistant Attorney General at the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce.
Over the course of her career, Mrs. Sutherland-Reid has contributed her legal expertise to several working groups and committees across both the public and private sectors, helping to shape, review, and advance legislation. She has also held leadership roles as Chairperson of the Ministry’s Procurement Committee, Director on various public boards, and Chair or member of various Appeal Tribunals and as Corporate Secretary.
As a committed educator, she has served as a tutor for the Law of Association course at the Norman Manley Law School. Her academic background includes a Diploma in Teacher Education from Mico University College, a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws, and Master’s degree from the University of the West Indies, and a Certificate in Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School.
Dedicated to mentorship and volunteerism, Mrs. Sutherland-Reid is passionate about youth development, senior citizen initiatives, and lifelong learning. She believes strongly that knowledge is the key to empowerment and growth.
