Talks are underway with potential new investors in the operations at the Long Pond Sugar Factory in Clark’s Town, Trelawny. Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda, has stated that the Ministry “is working overtime” with the owners of Everglades, which operates Long Pond, to conclude the negotiations. GOV’T TACKLING SALE OF IMPORTED REFINED SUGAR IN RETAIL TRADE

The Government will be moving to tackle the problem of imported refined sugar for use in the manufacturing sector, which ends up in the retail trade. Major Investment at Hounslow Agro Park

A major conglomerate will be investing in more than 200 acres of land for the production of hot peppers at the Hounslow Agro Park, in St. Elizabeth. Making the disclosure, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon.
