The 67 th annual Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show held August 4-6 at the showground in May Pen, Clarendon, has come in for high praises. Prime Minister the Most Hon Andrew Holness described the grounds as beautiful and the livestock impressive. Mr. Holness also praised the organisers and show participants, noting that the stalls he saw during his tour demonstrated that agriculture was strong and robust in Jamaica, with great opportunities, and great possibilities. Agriculture Minister announces increased cocoa prices

Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, Hon. Audley Shaw, has announced an increase in the price of cocoa payable to farmers. The price per box will move from $2,600 to $3,000 per box. The Minister made the announcement while addressing the 67 th annual Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show in May Pen, Clarendon, on August 5. “As we continue to support our farmers, I am pleased that we have successfully increased the prices by $400 per box and we are not stopping there,” he said.
