JANAAC to mark World Accreditation Day on June 9

Jamaica, through the Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation ( JANAAC ), an agency of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, will commemorate World Accreditation Day, on Tuesday, June 9, under the theme ‘Accreditation: Improving food safety’. “The theme this year focuses on how accreditation improves food safety, supporting the confidence of consumers, suppliers, purchasers, regulators in the quality and safety of food,” said Chief Executive Officer of JANAAC , Sharonmae Shirley. The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce is described as Jamaica's "Business Ministry." It's mandate is to lead the development of policies that will create growth and jobs, while achieving social inclusion and consumer protection.
