DBJ Revs up COVID Recovery Loans for Transport, Entertainment Sectors

The Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) is making loans available to micro, small, and medium enterprises in the transport and entertainment sectors as they seek to rebound from the COVID-19 hit. The DBJ will make $500 million available for those in the entertainment sector through a network of financial and microfinance institutions. The businesses will be able to access up to $10 million with up to five years to repay.

The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce is described as Jamaica's "Business Ministry." It's mandate is to lead the development of policies that will create growth and jobs, while achieving social inclusion and consumer protection. The Ministry, working its stakeholders is primarily responsible for business policy development, monitoring and evaluation, while giving direction and oversight to a cluster of implementing departments and agencies.
