Business Mission to Latin America

While on his way to a business mission to Latin America, Senator the Hon. Aubyn Hill, Minister of @industryminja toured the Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) HQ in Miami today, July 17th. GEM is a global humanatarian organization founded by Michael Capponi that has done several outreach projects in areas that have affected by disasters such as in Brazil during the 2023 floods, and the ongoing war in Ukraine. GEM has already started work in Jamaica with food and supply donations in St.Elizabeth and Clarendon, which will be followed up with additional supplies as well as help to rebuild several...

On an export and investment business mission to Mexico, Senator the Hon. @aubyn.hill, Minister of @industryminja and delegation, was hosted at a breakfast meeting by Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade (COMCE), July 18th. COMCE is the umbrella organization of the private sector whose mission is to promote foreign trade and foster the development and competitiveness of Mexican companies. The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce is described as Jamaica's "Business Ministry." It's mandate is to lead the development of policies that will create growth and jobs, while achieving social inclusion and consumer protection. The Ministry, working its stakeholders is primarily responsible for business policy development, monitoring and evaluation, while giving direction and oversight to a cluster of implementing departments and agencies.

We have, therefore, placed much energy and enthusiasm into the development of this website to provide timely information on the Ministry, our agencies and programmes.
