Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF), Donovan Stanberry (left), presents Grandville Francis, onion farmer from Yallahs, Agro-Park, with a Food Safety Management Systems certificate, at the Pesticides Survey Results Presentation Ceremony, held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, New Kingston, on Friday, November 17, 2017. Forty-three farmers were awarded with the Food Safety Management certificate.The main objective of the survey was to evaluate food safety issues associated with pesticide use and, in particular, to identify pesticide use problems that could impact access to export markets for Jamaican produce.
