State Minister in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Delano Seiveright, has called for stronger and more intentional partnerships between Jamaican companies and international investors, stressing that Jamaica-China cooperation must deliver deeper local business linkages, jobs, skills transfer and long-term value.
Speaking at the Spring Festival 2026—Year of the Horse celebration in Montego Bay, attended by Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Wang Jinfeng, Seiveright said true partnership should be based on shared progress rather than dependency.
He highlighted the growing Jamaica–China relationship in areas such as infrastructure, health, tourism and private-sector investment, pointing to projects like The Pinnacle in Montego Bay as signs of increasing Chinese confidence in Jamaica.

He also noted the rising presence of Chinese vehicle brands on Jamaican roads as evidence of expanding commercial ties.
Seiveright hailed Jamaican companies that supported the event, including Mayberry Group, ATL Automotive, Chukka Caribbean Adventures and Pier One, urging international partners to build structured collaborations with local firms.

He also acknowledged Yangsen Li, chairman of the festival, and the role of LCH Group in strengthening Jamaica–China business links.
The state minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to improving Jamaica’s investment climate while ensuring that international cooperation delivers real benefits for Jamaicans through employment, enterprise growth and sustainable economic value.
