With the appointment of a new German Ambassador to Jamaica, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Audley Shaw, wants to explore greater levels of cooperation with the Government and people of Germany.
Speaking during a courtesy call at his New Kingston offices on October 8, 2018, Minister Shaw welcomed the newly appointed German Ambassador to Jamaica, His Excellency Dr. Bernd von Münchow -Pohl. He informed the ambassador that Jamaica and Germany have always had a very good relationship, particularly as it relates to the automobile industry.

Both the minister and the ambassador expressed hope for increased cooperation between the countries during the ambassador’s tenure.
The ambassador expressed confidence that the good relationship which Jamaica and Germany share will continue and added that, “What I want to see is more German activities in the sectors in Jamaica. I could see some economic benefits coming from these areas.”
