Industry, Investment and Commerce Minister, Hon. Audley (left) along with Managing Director, Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF), Omar Sweeny (right), unveil the JSIF Grant Beneficiaries $20 million – ICDP II Entrepreneurial Grant cheque at the Spanish Court Hotel, Kingston on December 16.  The project is funded by the Government of Jamaica and is being implemented by JSIF.  The beneficiaries of this project are 40-80 micro and small enterprises approved for the enterprise development grant within the ICDP II communities.  The seven communities to benefit are August Town, Greenwich Town, Denham Town, Treadlight in Clarendon and Mount Salem, Salt Spring and Anchovy in St. James.

Seven inner-city communities are to benefit from a $20 million grant funding under the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) ICDP II Enterprise Development Project funded by the Government of Jamaica. The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce is described as Jamaica's "Business Ministry." It's mandate is to lead the development of policies that will create growth and jobs, while achieving social inclusion and consumer protection. The Ministry, working its stakeholders is primarily responsible for business policy development, monitoring and evaluation, while giving direction and oversight to a cluster of implementing departments and agencies.
