EXPO Jamaica to be Held from April 27 to April 30

The 48th staging of Expo Jamaica, which allows Jamaican businesses to meet buyers from all over the globe, will be held from Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30. This will be the first in-person staging of the event since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. It will be held at the National Arena and Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston. The Senate on Friday (March 24) approved the Appropriation Bill, 2023, which outlines how the government will spend the $1 trillion allocated in the 2023/24 Estimates of Expenditure. The Bill authorises expenditure for the financial year 2023/24 and stipulates how the money will be allocated to the various services and purposes of the government. The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce is described as Jamaica's "Business Ministry." It's mandate is to lead the development of policies that will create growth and jobs, while achieving social inclusion and consumer protection. The Ministry, working its stakeholders is primarily responsible for business policy development, monitoring and evaluation, while giving direction and oversight to a cluster of implementing departments and agencies.
