Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, the Hon. Karl Samuda, wants the Monymusk Sugar Estate to aim towards the production of 500,000 tonnes of cane over the next five years. Banana, plantain production increase in 2016

Chief Technical Director in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Dermon Spence, said that Jamaica’s production of plantain and banana in 2016 increased by 13.1% and 8%, respectively, while noting that there is need for increased productivity in order to meet the huge export demand. Samuda wants young people to be involved in Irish potato production

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon Karl Samuda, has said that in order to achieve the goal of 100% self-sufficiency in Irish potato production the Government will be calling on young people to assist with the planting of seedlings on an additional 300 acres of land that will be brought into production.
