Industry Minister Halts Export of Copper

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda has announced that effective immediately no copper will be exported from the island. The move is intended to discourage the theft of copper cables. The Trade Scrap Metal Regulation 2013 provides for the prohibition in the export of any material made of copper except with written permission from the Minister.
