Capacity Building Opportunities for MSMEs

Brief Description: 

The SRC provides assistance with capacity building opportunities to facilitate growth of MSMEs and drive new business development through the application of science, technology and innovation. For example, the SRC has provided capacity building opportunities recently in:
  • Personal Care Products  - development of personal care products (soap, bodywash, lotion);
  • Food Processing: meat processing, sauce, juice, preservation techniques condiments
  • Training workshops were held in areas such as personal care (body washes; soap making and lotion making); meat processing, tissue culture technology and Waste Management.  
With respect to food processing, 12 courses were held with 466 SME participants in attendance.

Benefits: 

These interventions assisted MSMEs in product lines extension, generation of new business and awareness raising of new technologies in food, health and wellness products and services to drive business development.
