National Consumer Protection and Welfare Policy Development Nearing Completion

The National Consumer Protection and Welfare Policy, being developed by the Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC), is nearing completion. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the CAC, Dolsie Allen, told JIS News that the Policy, which is expected to be implemented this year, is “more than 85 per cent complete”. Local businesses across various sectors will be exposed to new buyers in the Guyanese market as part of the second ministerial trade mission to the country. Jamaica’s Business Ministry rebrands to help woo investors

The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce has been rebranded Jamaica’s Business Ministry. The rebranding was announced by Senator Aubyn Hill, minister of industry, investment and commerce, on Wednesday evening during a Rebranding and Quality Recognition ceremony held at the AC Hotel. Hill said one objective of the rebranding effort is to grow Jamaica exports, starting with more targeting Guyana.
