Hutchinson, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, discusses use of Serenade, one of three fungicides that were launched in the Jamaican market by Bayer CropScience (BCS) and Carib Agro Distributors Limited (CAD), with Nicholas Duke, Sales Manager at BCS; and Reginald Burgess, director, CAD; at Junction in St. Elizabeth on February 17. The fungicides, which are manufactured by BCS, can be used singly or together and are suitable for use on crops such as tomato, Irish potato and pepper.

Industry Minister Halts Export of Copper

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda has announced that effective immediately no copper will be exported from the island. The move is intended to discourage the theft of copper cables. The Trade Scrap Metal Regulation 2013 provides for the prohibition in the export of any material made of copper except with written permission from the Minister.
