Agriculture Ministry set to launch International Year of Plant Health

In keeping with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) declaration of 2020 as the United Nations’ International Year of Plant Health (IYPH), the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF) will launch local activities on January 22 at the Hope Botanical Gardens. The launch will also serve to raise awareness on how protecting plant health can help end hunger, reduce poverty, protect biodiversity and the environment, and boost economic development.
