Companies can get TCC at COJ upon Registration

Companies are able to obtain a Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) at the Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ) upon the registration of a name. The TCC, which is processed by Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ), is an important document issued to an individual or company as proof that they are tax compliant and their payments of tax liabilities and wage-related statutory deductions are up to date. The TCC, issued upon registration, is valid for three months. Once expired, the customer will have to engage TAJ. More business people are using the electronic business registration form (eBRF) to register their operations since the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The online platform, launched by the Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ) in August 2019, replaces the paper-based ‘superform’ that was introduced in 2014 and allows users to register their business name or company name from anywhere in the world, via the COJ’s website, www.orcjamaica.com . Hardware & Lumber (H&L) Agro has donated $2 million in agricultural inputs to assist small farmers who have been impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The inputs, which include fertilisers, pesticides and seeds, were handed over to Minister of Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon.
