On Monday, October 14, Jamaica joined the rest of the world in commemorating World Standards Day 2019 under the theme ‘Video Standards Create a Global Stage’. 50 farmers receive tanks, training and irrigation system under climate change adaptation and mitigation project

A total of 50 farmers from the community of Cascade in St. Ann have benefitted from the Japan Caribbean Climate Change Partnership (JCCCP) Project, which seeks to enhance their capabilities in climate change adaptation and mitigation. Under the JCCP project, the Cascade farmers received 1000-gallon tanks, a multipurpose shed that facilitated the harvesting of water in the tanks, and a drip irrigation system to irrigate their crops. The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce is described as Jamaica's "Business Ministry." It's mandate is to lead the development of policies that will create growth and jobs, while achieving social inclusion and consumer protection. The Ministry, working its stakeholders is primarily responsible for business policy development, monitoring and evaluation, while giving direction and oversight to a cluster of implementing departments and agencies.
